When visiting the largest mangrove forest Sundarbans, tour guides always tell everyone to stay together. There are Royal Bengal Tigers and dangerous forest animals everywhere in this forest. Any accident can happen at any moment if anyone isolated from the team. But there are some wise(!) people everywhere. One class says that there are no tigers in the Sundarbans. Killing them all the smugglers. Another class says We are Bengalis. Brave nation. Show us the fear of death? This tiger will lift its tail and run away when it sees us. 😂
And if there are 2/1 beautiful ladies in the group, then the number of these wise men increases at an alarming rate for some unknown reason 😂. Today I will tell you one of the most interesting stories about the Sundarban Tour.
In January 2017, a tourist ship with 60 tourists, crossed the entire Sundarbans, through Katka on the first day, crossed the Kunga river on the second day and reached Hiron Point at 12 PM. Many of the tourists have already gained a lot of strength by visiting two spots, eating various food and seeing lots of deer, pigs, and monkeys. But bravery is a quality that cannot be defeated. Again it thrills in the body until it is shown to others. Leaving the ship on the Kunga River, the whole team arrived at the Mermaid Resthouse platoon. From there, everyone lined up in front of the Mongla Port Rest House to walk to the Watch Tower. Two forest rangers, One was in front of everyone and another in the back was leading the whole line with Scott.
Three fearless Bengali tourists came into the forest road. Then they were walking keeping a distance of about 300 feet from other tourists. Even after repeatedly telling them to back off, they did not listen to them. At one point, everyone stopped shouting. After some time the dense Gewa forest begins. There was a long straight narrow road in the middle of it. Our brave three young men are leading the helpless tourists. On the way, there is a small culvert. When the three young men crossed it, just then a huge Royal Bengal Tiger came out of the Gewa forest on the left side of the culvert and stood on the path.
The incident happened like this, the tiger was standing in the middle of the path 150 feet in front of the whole team and the three young men were standing 150 feet in front of the tiger. Standing in the middle of the two groups, the tiger stared at the big group. This group has two rifles. But three men were empty-handed. The others started shouting to warn them. Without wasting any moment, one of them lost consciousness and laid down the ground. And the other two men stood in one place, stunned by the screams, and stared wide-eyed.
Observing the large group for about 10 seconds, the tiger turned its
and looked at the three (read two and a half people). But perhaps seeing one of the three lying on the ground, he did not understand well and looked up and down a few times. On the other hand, various things were being shouted from the large team. Some say run, some say climb trees, some say lie down and forest rangers say don't move anyway. One of them jumped up and hugged the other. The tiger has never seen such an incident in his entire tiger life. The tiger was very surprised.
At that moment, the two men sat on the ground and started crying. Sitting in front of a tiger is the biggest foolishness. Tigers are encouraged to attack when they see a small size and think they are low energy victims. The guards are firing blank one after another but the tiger has no frown.
It's been about a minute. Three members of the large group have already fallen unconscious in panic. Others have started crying to die. The old ranger told the young ranger to shoot at the ground in front of the tiger. Then the young guard shot at the ground in front of the tiger. As soon as mud fell on the tiger, And at the same time, with a huge shout of "Ghao", the tiger fled into the Gewa forest.
Then literally everyone brought them to the forest office. There they give them primary treatment by sprinkling enough water.
But what is the reason for the unusual behavior of the tiger?
After sharing the whole incident with the forest workers there, they came up with an explanation. According to them. A total of three tigers is seen in this area. One of which is the old aged tiger. For some reason, this tiger is deaf (can not hear anything). And the team fell right in front of that tiger.
And the reason behind not attacking is being explained also. Being a tourist area, people have been usual in seeing tigers in this area since birth. They do not see people as victims of threats. So tigers use to avoid attacking people here.
